Beauty | Greensboro Photographer

I've already posted this photo on my FB page but I wanted to add it to my blog as well.  In the brainstorming stage of this project I new I wanted to use a model and a tree of some sort.  My original idea was that using her body the model was going to mimic the twisted beauty of a tree's branches.  As I traveled around looking for the perfect tree I happened upon this gorgeous thing.  The base of this one tree had opened up to reveal these amazing designs within.  It was even more than I could have hoped for and perfect for the photo I wanted to create.  The model was also a dream and really understood how to move her body to create these elegant lines.  One of the things I love about conceptual photos such as this is that the viewer is able to create their own story line.  I have my own intentions of what the photo is but I find it fascinating to hear how other people interpret it.  I've heard some really neat stories so far.  It makes my heart happy to be able to invite individuals to daydream with me and use their imaginations!  

Impromptu Session | Asheboro Photographer

This past week we had an impromptu session at a beautiful church in Asheboro, NC.  I had a great model for the session and to be such a last minute thing I really love the photos!

Open Studio | Asheboro Photographer

Several weeks ago I was given an assignment to photograph a model in the studio.  Other than that the assignment was wide open.  We were free to "play" with our setups to see what we could come up with.  With inspiration from Arnold Newman, my photos turned out to be fairly simple in design but dramatic in lighting and poses.  I love the results!  A big thank you to my model, Joy!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Senior Portraits | Greensboro Photographer

These two young ladies are total gems!  I had a photography assignment in which we were asked to photograph a senior for their senior portrait session.  After putting the word out there that I was on the hunt for a model these two friends excitedly volunteered!  It was neat to photograph the friends together for their session.  We met late one afternoon in downtown Greensboro.  I love photographing in that area.  I always seem to find a new an exciting backdrop that I hadn't noticed before. 

Thank you ladies for your willingness to model!  You both did a wonderful job!
